Watch Where You Step

Proverbs 4:26

Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.

There is an old saying that goes, “It does not matter where you’ve been. What matters is where your feet are headed.” All of us have made regrettable mistakes but successful people insist that you should learn from your missteps and apply that wisdom to future decisions.

That's what it means in this verse to “ponder the path of your feet.” Yes, it means that you evaluate where you are going and think about what would be best.

In business, what you learn from your past can help you build a better company or help you figure out which type of job you should not apply for because you realize you will not do well in certain environments.

Yes, you need to go to the people you have hurt and ask for forgiveness. You need to learn from your mistakes but don’t spiral down beating yourself up because of them. Its time to put your past behind you and decide which direction you want your feet to go.

Hanging around with the wrong crowd will drag you back into the quicksand you were mired in that led to your destruction. Choose wisely who you want to spend time with, people who want to do things God’s way and are headed in the right direction, then get your support and advice from them.

If the old friends who want you to join them in sin keep calling, don’t answer. Don’t reply to their texts.

Make a decision each morning where your path will be headed today and then stick to it.

Set positive goals for yourself and build new and effective habits that will help you get healthier, in better shape, and gain spiritual insights.

In the ancient story of Job he declared that he was going to treasure God’s Word more than his necessary food.

Starting each day reading your Bible and praying will set your mind thinking His thoughts and it will often reveal answers to the questions you have.

Thats the kind of decision you need to make first thing in the day which will “let all your ways be established”.
